Summit gymnasts tumble their way to the top
A total of 15 Level 1 to 3 tumblers stunned the crowd when they received gold medals, which got them their Junior Central Gauteng colours.
Summit gymnasts recently tumbled their way to the top when they obtained excellent results in both district and provincial competitions, followed by a Zone competition for the Level 1 to 3 tumblers.
The North Zone Competition, which is known as the ‘Mini Nationals’, was held in Pretoria during the weekend of 25 and 26 August. A total of 15 Level 1 to 3 tumblers stunned the crowd when they received gold medals, which got them their Junior Central Gauteng colours.
This is how the tumblers were placed overall in their divisions:
First:
• Amber Procter
• Carmi Kok
• Christelle van Gass
• Kaitlyn Crous
• Divan du Plessis
Second:
• Kiara Kotze
• Iain Perry
• Ila Oosthuysen
Level 4 and higher tumblers also participated in district and provincial competitions, and received their full Central Gauteng colours.
Marine Lombard, Coraldi Beckman, Piper Wagner and Liam de Mendonc will now be competing in the SA Games in October.
