Western Cubs show off their new tribal jerseys
Western Cubs welcome their newest sponsor to the team, and recently had the opportunity to show off their new, stunning rugby kit.
The Western Cubs junior rugby teams showed their mettle when they faced off against their Brobdingnagian opponent – the best junior 7s players in the country.
The Golden Lions 7s Festival on Saturday, 6 July gave the team its first opportunity to show off its new jerseys in the big leagues. A brief moment of silence was followed by deafening cheers as the first team took to their field in their eye-catching bright blue, pink and black jerseys.
The new Western Cubs rugby jerseys are more spectacular and colourful than ever before. The design is much like a proud peacock displaying the array of rainbow tones on its feathers. The Western Cubs mean to show the world that they’re proud of who they are and their bright jerseys will be the last thing other teams see before they lose the game.
On Friday, 12 July, the team welcomed its newest sponsor into the fold. Evotel’s Head of Sales Marketing, Dean Denyschen was there to present the final version of the jersey and rugby shorts on behalf of the company. Even he was surprised at how stunning the uniform looked as Laerskool Krugersdorp-Noord’s floodlights fell on it. The school has recently become the new training grounds for the Western Cubs, and the field was filled that late afternoon with more players and parents than one would expect.
“We are very excited. Evotel is committed to giving back to the Krugersdorp community, and what a better way than through the development and growth of the youth through sponsorship initiatives,” said Albert Oosthuysen, Chief Executive Officer of the fibre network service provider, Evotel.
