Indoor sports centre opening soon at Key West
A new sports centre will be opening at Key West soon and there will even be an indoor dodge ball league.
For the past three years, the top floor of the Key West Shopping Centre’s parking lot has been changing into a sport paradise.
Six years ago, Ewan van Heerden and Werner Fourie started Van Heerden Fourie Sport (VHF Sport), when Werner drove past centre and decided to have a look at the top floor of the parking lot. He wanted to see if the space would fit the dream that he and his business partner had for an indoor sport centre.

After talking to centre management, the wheels started turning.
They started with action hockey, having realised that there is nowhere on the West Rand for action hockey players to play and they had to drive to other towns if they wanted to play.
Apart from the two action hockey/ cricket fields, they will also have a cricket academy, netball fields, indoor soccer and indoor dodge ball.
There will be a bar for athletes and supporters to chill at, jumping castles for the kids and a study centre complete with a computer room.
The centre will host various tournaments and leagues and will also be available for school sports.
The plan is to officially open the Key West Sports Centre within the next two months as a collaboration between VHF Sport and Action Sport, which will bring sport lovers of all ages together.
If you want to check them out, join them on 13 and 14 September when they are hosting an indoor hockey tournament.
