Matthew continues raking in the prizes
Little Matthew Fulton has once again come back from the World Championships as one of the world's best.
The small spitfire Matthew Fulton is already a year older and has another impressive achievement under his belt.
During July, Matthew participated in the Union Cyclist Internationale (UCI) BMX World Championships that took place in Heusden-Zalder, in Belgium. Out of the 99 eight-year-olds who competed on a day that reached temperatures of 43 degrees Celsius, Matthew finished in eighth place.
Matthew also currently lies first in his national age group.
He told us that his favourite trick is pedaling in the air, a trick he will probably be performing on 21 and 22 September, when his club will be hosting the South African Championships and national age group series at the Thatch Cafe at the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve in Muldersdrift.
Their club had eighteen members last year and has already grown to 45 members.
Next on Matthew’s to do list is training and preparing with his coach, Donovan Minnie, for next year’s World Championships, which will be held in Texas.
His dream is to one day be able to compete in the Olympics.
His parents want to thank Skullcandy and Dirt Nurse for sponsoring him.
