Sensei proud of his Rage Kickboxers
They've barely started and the four young fighters at Team Rage Kickboxing are already a force to reckon with.
After only opening their doors three months ago the Team Rage Kickboxing Club has hit the ground running and recently sent a number of young fighters to the Great North 2 Championship.

At the championship, which took place on 31 August, Ricko Gouws and Barend Niemand attained silver medals, with Raymond Broadhurst and Wihan Gouws both receiving bronze. This after they had only trained a short while with their sensei. They weren’t holding back and they definitely weren’t afraid of the more experienced competition at the tournament. Not even a week passed before they started training again to take on their next tournament, looking to improve at every turn.

Sensei Fred Lourens started the club for two main reasons: to train children in Krugersdorp West who can’t always easily gain access to other kickboxing clubs, and to have a place of his own where he could train. The club quickly grew and is now quite full with eager fighters. He also gives regular self-defense classes for the older age groups.
