Rage kickboxers live up to their name
Taking on more experienced fighters, Krugersdorp West Kickboxers showed they had the fighting spirit and walked away with multiple wins.
Team Rage 2 sent 12 young fighters to the Berario K1 kickboxing tournament in September, where all kicks, punches and knee strikes were allowed.
Rage fighters competed against five other Central Gauteng clubs. Each Rage member walked away with a medal during the long day of fighting which continued into the early night hours.
Hopewell Tshabalala and Jonathan van Heerden, both senior fighters, performed especially well in very tough matches, but walked away with a win and a third position respectively. Jonathan is currently a white belt and had to face off against black belts.
Most of the members have only been training for a few short months and had three weeks to prepare for the tournament. They proved their mettle and showed that they can take on experienced fighters by giving it their all in the time they were provided.
Next on the roster was the Greater North 3 tournament, which took place in late October in Newlands, Johannesburg.
