Two elite cricket coaches join KHS

KHS appointed two highly experienced coaches to lead the way for its cricket academy.

Krugersdorp High School’s (KHS) cricket programme received a massive boost with the appointment of two elite coaches.

The school’s cricket programme had an 18-month hiatus, however, KHS is now happy to announce that it will revive the programme in hopes of developing its players at the highest level to compete against top schools.

KHS deputy head principal Elmien van Rooyen ensured that the correct measures have been set in place to ensure that a fully functional cricket programme is developed and the relationship further continues with Central Gauteng Lions and Cricket South Africa to produce top talent.

Sandile Masengemi

The school has appointed two sought-after coaches Sandile Masengemi and Bongani Ndaba, who have a clear vision of what they wish to achieve in ensuring that the programme grows from strength to strength.

The two men have worked together previously with Masengemi as head coach of Easterns Cricket and Ndaba being the assistant coach.

In due course, the KHS Cricket Academy will be producing quality on the pitch with Masengemi and Ndaba running the academy.

Both gentlemen also have extensive knowledge of such programmes in conjunction with Gauteng Central Lions.

Ndaba further played a vital role in the set-up and running of the St Stithians College Cricket Academy, while Masengemi coached the Central Gauteng Lions cub team. Both gentlemen have played pivotal roles in the development of both provincial and national players, and the school is of the firm belief that not only will they play a vital role in the development of cricket as a game but also players within the school and the greater community.

“The vision of the programme is to ensure that KHS becomes an extension to Central Gauteng Lions and that the school is identified as one of the major feeders to the system and ensure all learners from our community are provided with a fair opportunity of being a part of the greater vision of Central Gauteng Lions and Cricket South Africa,” concluded Van Rooyen.
