Brad ready to go one better in 2025
The time has come for Brad Binder to compete in the first MotoGP for the year in Thailand this weekend.
As excitement builds ahead of this year’s MotoGP season, Krugersdorp resident Brad Binder is hoping to make his country and town proud.
According to the official MotoGP official website, the first race of the season is this weekend at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand. Race day is on Sunday, March 2.
Regarding pre-season preparation, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing announced on its website that their racers completed ‘two hot and hectic days of testing activity at the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand’.
“Two days here has gone quickly. We did some time attacks in the morning today and then a longer run in the afternoon and it was not too bad. Some small steps for sure, and better than when we were here last time. I feel that we are doing quite well and we need to put some more small pieces together for when we come back here in two weeks. It will be nice to have a full race weekend: I feel like we have done a lot of testing already!” Brad said on their website.
In 2024, Brad finished fifth (out of 29 competitors) in the championship standings with 217 points.
He can also be proud of being a record holder on two occasions, namely:
• Reaching a top speed of 325.8km/h in France in 2023
• The Best Race Lap with a time of one minute and 30.145 seconds with a top speed of 159.9km/h in Valencia, also in 2023
