Darryn bags a point after gritty Austrian GP ride

MotoGP2’s Darryn Binder showed determination at the Austrian GP, gaining nine spots despite not feeling 100%. He sets his sights on a stronger performance at the Hungarian GP.

Local MotoGP2 rider, Darryn Binder, gained nearly 10 positions at the BWIN Grand Prix of Austria this past weekend.

On August 17, he took to the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, where he started 24th and finished 15th.

He mentioned on his team’s official website that they made progress, but unfortunately, halfway through the race, he wasn’t feeling his best physically, which made it a tough race.

“I’m happy to walk away with a 15th position and one point. Now we have a little more to improve for the next one, where I’ll hopefully feel better and aim higher,” he said.

Darryn is currently 21st in the championship standings and will race again at the Michelin Grand Prix of Hungary this weekend (August 22 to 24).
