Kagiso police support learners with new sports kits

Kagiso police handed over sports kits to the Winfred Nomzamo Mandela High School to get learners more involved with sports.

Sports can have a huge impact on learners, and recently, the Kagiso police showed their support by donating sports kits to learners at Winfred Nomzamo Mandela High School.

On September 18, acting station commander Colonel Jacques Wiese presented the kits, saying the initiative was made possible through collaboration with local businesses. The donation includes uniforms and equipment for netball, soccer, and chess.

“We did this to motivate the learners and hope they get more involved in sports at the school,” Wiese said.

Deputy principals Jaqueline Mpshe and Kwanele Dingiswayo welcomed the donation, noting that it could boost learners’ morale and engagement.

“These kits will increase interest in all the sports offered, even for learners who don’t usually participate,” said Kwanele. “It will also encourage healthy competition between the different sporting codes at our school.”

The initiative highlights how local police and community partners can make a positive difference in learners’ lives, encouraging teamwork, fitness, and school pride.
