[VIDEO] 93 per cent for ballet group
Mogale Youth Ballet performed their annual show at the Roodepoort Theater and scored 93 per cent from Raca.
From Paris to Hong Kong, little ballerinas of Mogale Youth Ballet showcased their talent at their annual show, The Pink Shoes.
The Randfontein Arts and Culture Association (Raca) scored their production 93 per cent on Saturday at the Roodepoort Theater.
The Pink Shoes told the story of different dancers in different places all over the world. The pink ballet shoes have a magical ability to transform the dancer who wears them into a professional ballerina and take her to where she truly wants to be.
Carla Turner, ballet teacher and coordinator said the girls danced every Saturday from 9 May and had four rehearsals the last two weeks leading up to the show. In total, they practised for about 2 200 hours.
The ballerinas, aged 5 to 17, in their glimmering dresses entertained a packed theater on the night.

The show’s proceeds went to the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (Choc), which was established in 1979 as a support group for parents of children with cancer, by parents of children with cancer.
Carla, being very passionate about keeping the dream of ballet alive in young girls – and boys, said it’s a show by children for children.

“We thought it would be fun to teach the children about various exciting world destinations. Some scenes of the production included Rome, Paris, London, Vienna, New York and our beloved Jozi.”
The Mogale Youth Ballet is busy organising the next show and its auditions for 2016.
