Spoil a Husky for a day

22 JUNE — The Krugersdorp Ladies Circle 24 – In Formation presents a day where you can spoil a Husky in aid of Nordic Rescue. Join them for a day of fun, play and dirt, and of course loads of love. Your entrance fee? A bag or tin of dog food, treats, toys or blankets. All donations received will be handed over to Nordic Rescue. The event kicks off at 11am at Plot 202, Syferbult, Tarlton. Melville Koppies Nature Reserve Hike

23 JUNE — Join a three-hour, cross-koppie guided hike through the Melville Koppies Nature Reserve, starting at 8.30am. You can park in the upper car park at Marks Parks on Judith Road, Emmarentia, opposite the entrance to the Koppies. 26 JUNE — The Horticultural Society invites you to a talk by Suzette Madden on succulents at The Floreum at the Joburg Botanical Gardens, Olifants Road, Emmarentia. Please use the north entrance. Bavarian Christmas Festival
27-30 JUNE — The open parking area at Silverstar will be transformed into a typical Bavarian town square, complete with a traditional Oompah band. Warm up to mouth-watering Bavarian delicacies such as Eisbein and Bratwurst, a full selection of cold beverages, and popular winter cuppas such as glühwein and hot chocolate. A village market will be available for the townsfolk, complete with various exhibitors, an amusement park, photos with Santa and roaming buskers. Tickets are R60 per person, children under 12 enter free of charge.
Horse & Hound Wellness Day

29 JUNE — Join Oppistal and the News for an animal wellness day to rival any other. From 10am at the AFM Church on Lud Hersch Drive, Noordheuwel, dog and horse lovers will find an array of speakers, including a veterinarian who will answer your pet health questions, animal goodie stalls, great food stalls, equine complementary care therapy demonstrations such as dentistry, physiotherapy and acupuncture, as well as a herbs and natural remedies demonstration for your horse or dog. Three worthy animals shelters will benefit from this day. Raffle tickets for a fabulous prize will be on sale for R50, in aid of the shelters. The Garden Market and Tea Garden
29 JUNE — Looking for a great community event to attend? If so, make sure to visit The Garden Market and Tea Garden at 14 Starlight Avenue in Wilro Park (behind the Sterlig Retirement Home). What can you expect? Boerewors rolls, rotis, biryani, samoosas, cakes and toasted sandwiches at the Tea Garden, while butter, cheese, jams, pickles, olives, dates and all sorts will be on sale at the market. There will be a kids’ corner (a crafter will help kids to make something), reflexology, neck and shoulder massages, jewellery, pens, crafts, clothing and baby goods.
