Cansa Talent Showcase

10 AUGUST — The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) is launching its CANSA Socialite 2019 campaign. Aspiring performers are invited to showcase their talent and become CANSA Ambassadors by spreading its cancer health awareness message, all while raising funds to enable CANSA to continue its care and service. Auditions will take place from 10am to 3pm at The Basement Theatre of the Roodepoort Theatre, 100 Christiaan de Wet Road, Florida Park. Entrants can display instrumental, acting, dancing and singing talents in a 90-seconds audition on a professional stage. Entrants are to supply their backtrack or song on a marked USB memory stick. Kloofendal Nature Reserve events

10 AUGUST — Kloofendal Nature Reserve is hosting a Guided Nature Walk from 9am. A Friends of Kloofendal guide will present this walk, which costs R70 for adults, R60 for pensioners and R50 per child. Information and bookings can be made with Karin on 079 693 5608.

Hike the Koppies

11 AUGUST — Join the three-hour cross-koppie hike through Melville Koppies Nature Reserve, starting at 8.30am. You can park in the upper car park at Marks Park on Judith Road, Emmarentia, opposite the Melville Koppies Nature Reserve entrance.
