Miss Fab 2015 crowned

People came out in numbers to witness the crowning of Miss Fabulocity Limpopo 2015 at Limpopo Guest Manor in Polokwane last Saturday.

It was the second edition of the pageant since its inception last year. The beauty pageant is aimed at celebrating plus-size women and encouraging them to embrace their bodies.

The theme for this year was “all white with a touch of colour”. Founder of the pageant Sewela Kgatla said she started the pageant because she grew up being teased for being “Big” and wanted other big girls to love their bodies the way they are. She added that she wanted plus-size women to feel beautiful from the inside out.

Miss Mzansi Limpopo 2015 Finalist, Gail Sethosa gave a message of support before the winners were announced.

Eight women participated in the beauty pageant and the number was cut to five when they announced the top five: Khomotso Matlale, Moronga Raphela, Cathy Malatji, Rachel Motadi and Berlinda Lekoloane,

Moronga Raphela was announced first princess, Berlinda Lekoloane, second princess and Rachel Motadi was crowned, Miss Fabulocity Limpopo 2015

Last year’s winners, Tebatso Madiga ,(first princess), Maria Napo (Miss Fabulocity Limpopo 2014) and Naledi Molokane (second princess) handed out their roving crowns to the current winners

As this year’s winner Rachel will play the role of an ambassador, representing all the big girls while encouraging them to love themselves. All participants were awarded certificates for their participation in the pageant.

Kgatla said the event would not have been a success if it was not for the sponsors: Limpopo Guest Manor, Pastor Malatji, Audi Polokwane, Mr Tshilidzi, and Energy fm.
