KZN’s Bitcoin Wallets manager Sgumza still on the run
Furious investors are thousands of rands out of pocket after investing in Bitcoin Wallets
Bitcoin Wallets manager Sphelele ‘Sgumza’ Mbatha is still on the run and has not been arrested, Ladysmith Gazette reports.
On Wednesday, an angry mob set fire to residential premises in Tsakane, Steadville, believed to belong to a family member of Sgumza. The house was vacant at the time. At this stage, no case has been opened with the police.
Reports in national newspapers that one of Sgumza’s luxury cars was destroyed in the fire are false.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
Officers from Public Order Policing (POP), the Tactical Response Team (TRT) and Ladysmith Visible Policing were deployed to the area and are currently monitoring the situation.
