Murder charges provisionally struck off the roll

A case of murder against two men who allegedly pelted their colleague with oranges until he died has been provisionally struck off the roll by the Tzaneen Magistrate's Court last Wednesday.

The suspects aged 27 and 30 appeared briefly in court and were informed that the matter has been temporarily withdrawn pending the autopsy results.

According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the two suspects were arrested following the death of Babanto Chauke (38) at La Cotte Farm in Letsitele last week Monday afternoon.

It is alleged that, Chauke from Thomo Village in Giyani but originally from Mozambique had a heated argument with the two men and they pelted him with oranges until he died.

Ngoepe said charges to be faced by the two suspects will be determined by the outcome of the post-mortem.
