A sad atmosphere engulfed the troubled camp of Golden Aces after their shock 3-1 defeat to local arch-rivals Lephepane Rovers last Saturday at the Nyekhetlha ground.

The disappointment was clearly understandable because Aces needed maximum points to keep their chase for the Premier division title alive. Leaders of the pack, Manamela Naughty Boys were sitting at a comfortable four points gap at the summit of the log table.

Their cause of “Makhema a Khaphamadi”, as Acess commonly known as, was further undone when their fellow title contestants, Manamela Naughty Boys, slashed Mapantsula by a sharp 6-3 score line. In another significant Premier encounter, Leswika Classic collected maximum points from Khopho All Stars at the Mapantsula ground after a massive 1-0 score. The solitary goal was netted by their new signing LekekeMangena to make manager, Junior Maake, heave a huge sigh of relief.

In the Super division, Mokomotji Highlanders narrowly escaped from the jaws of a lion when they narrowly edged out Khujwana Bagdad 1-0 at the Mokomotji ground. In a game that was bound to end either in a stalemate or in the favour of Bagdad, it only took a dubious decision by the referee in the last five minutes of the encounter to have Mokomotji Highlanders equalised from the penalty spot.
