Barcelona, Stars crowned

Nkowankowa Barcelona and Shinning Stars were crowned soccer and netball champions respectively at Nkowankowa Stadium last Saturday.

Barcelona beat Lenyenye killer ocean 5-1 in the semi-final and proceeded to win 3-1 against Julesburg Development in the finals.

Shinning Stars crushed Mokhapa 28-7 in the semifinals and overcame Mapheto 27-2 in the finals.

For their efforts, the winning teams in both soccer and netball received new kits , trophies and gold medals whilst the runners-up in soccer got a kit and silver medals. The runners-up in netball only received silver medals.

The sport challenge was sponsored by Dr Ishmael Maremanyana Nhlangwana, his wife Hendrietha and son Dr Vulombe Nhlangwana as a way of giving back to the community.
