Tzaneen Tigers Ladies edge Giyani in Mopani T20 cricket clash

The Tigers claimed an eight-run victory despite missing several regular players, with reserves stepping up to help secure the win.

TZANEEN – Tzaneen Tigers Ladies Cricket secured an exciting eight-run victory over Giyani in a 2026/27 Mopani T20 League match at Khanyisa Education Centre on Saturday, October 31.

In a closely contested match, Tigers scored 164/6 before bowling out the hosts for 156, sealing a hard-fought win.

Tigers captain Annecke van Wyk said the victory was particularly satisfying as the team was without several regular players and had to call on reserves, some of whom had never played at professional level.

“It was a hot day, but we managed to put up a great performance against our opponents.

“Team spirit was high, which helped us secure the victory,” she said.

Van Wyk added that the team was improving with every match and working hard in training to continue developing its game. Tigers will face Mohodi at the Ben Vorster High School cricket field on Saturday, November 14.
