A woman was killed by a mob after her husband was shot dead by an unknown man at Lephepane village on Sunday Morning.

It is alleged that the couple, who own a tavern, was asleep in the early hours of Sunday, when unknown men knocked on the door saying they wanted to buy a beer.

The man allegedly refused to open the door, but the woman let the men in.

The man was taken to Dr CN Phatudi Hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.

A mob of villagers who had gathered at the scene attacked the woman with various objects including bottles and stones until she died.

This, after she was accused of working with the men who killed her husband.
