CORRECTION: Slain GTM traffic officer laid to rest on Saturday
The GTM traffic officer who was killed in a tragic accident last weekend, will be laid to rest on Saturday and the memorial service will be held today.
According to a press release the Herald received from the GTM, Mlondobodzi joined the Greater Tzaneen Municipality as a Law Enforcement Officer (Traffic Officer) on the 1st of February 2010 and remained in that position until his tragic death.
He leaves behind both his parents, his wife and two children, his three sisters and one brother.
The slain GTM traffic officer, Hector Mlondobodzi’s funeral will not be taking place today, as stated in a press release the Herald received yesterday from the GTM.
Today a memorial service will be held, with the funeral taking place on Saturday.
According to the press release, the Herald received from the GTM, Mlondobodzi joined the Greater Tzaneen Municipality as a Law Enforcement Officer (Traffic Officer) on the 1st of February 2010 and remained in that position until his tragic death.

A memorial service will be held today at 12:00 at Tivumbeni MPC, the funeral will take place on Saturday, 02 April 2016 at 06:00.
He will be buried at Muhlava Cross Cementery.
The passing of Mr Mlondobodzi has personally affected Mayor Dikeledi Mmetle as Mlondobodzi once acted as her driver.
The leadership of the Greater Tzaneen Municipality, led by the Mayor visited the Mlondobodzi on Monday, 28 March to offer condolences.
A team from the municipality was also dispatched to assist with the arrangement of both the memorial service and the funeral.
Mlondobodzi died on Sunday, 27 March 2016 after he was hit by an allegedly speeding motorist, Akani Brendon Mgimeti, the son of a local magistrate, on the R36 road next the Old MacDonald’s Market.
His death comes a few days after he celebrated his 40th Birthday on the 13th of March. Mlondobodzi died on scene of the accident.
The motorist later handed himself to the Tzaneen Police Station.
He appeared in the Tzaneen Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 29 March 2016 and his case was postponed to Friday, 1st of April for bail application.
