Hans Harri is Bussiness man of the Year
Well over a hundred guests attended the annual Phalaborwa Chamber of Business Awards function at the Cajori Hotel in town on Thursday night where well known local entrepreneur and business man, Hans Harri, received the award for the Business person of the year.
Chamber President, Manie Kriel, lauded Harri for his success in business and in particular his open hand in supporting charity and other worthy causes.
Gravelotte game farmer and breeder of rare species, Piet Warren, was crowned Newsmaker of the Year while numerous service excellence awards and awards for business growth and development were also handed over.
MIB, who is in the process of investing in excess of R150million in Phalaborwa in steel manufacturing, the gymnasium, Stefan Holtzhausen and Ian Pearson of the new Debonairs Pizza and Total Garage, Bushveld Terrace Boutique Hotel, Kambaku Olifants River Safaris and Ivan Pearson all received business growth and development awards while Leandri van Vollenstee of Sefapane received a special award for her contribution towards tourism growth in the area.
Service excellence awards were awarded to the Phalaborwa Cycling Club, Piet Burger, Principal of Groenskool, the CPF Phalaborwa and Lepelle Northern Water.
The evening was a resounding success with Abby Ledwaba of Foskor performing the task of Programme Director with distinction and his witty and colourful remarks and anecdotes had the audience regularly in fits of laughter and the whole function was a huge feather in the cap of the Phalaborwa Chamber of Commerce.
Amongst other guests present were Prof Piet Crouwkamp, renowned political commentator, a representative from SACCI’s national office and several prominent business leaders from the area.
