UPDATE: A total of four escaped prisoners caught

Four of the seven escaped prisoners have been caught after they escaped the Tzaneen police cells March 22.

According to a police report the fourth escapee, Victor Makgopa was re-arrested in Bolobedu South outside Tzaneen of the Limpopo Province on which three are still on the run out of the seven.

Following the re-arrest of Goodwill Marana Sekhwela and Lucky Mashatola,  Huston Mabasa was re-arrested today at Westfalia outside Tzaneen.

Members of the community gave the police a tip-off of where Sekhwela was hiding.

According to police spokesperson, Colonel Ronel Otto, the prisoners overpowered members of the police who visited the cells.

The remaining suspects are Mahlatsi Sello Tape, Tshepo Charles Sebake and Piet Solly Sekgobela.

Their ages are ranged between 22 to 36 years old.

In a police statement it said that they were arrested for various violent crimes ranging from armed robbery, housebreaking to rape and they are extremely dangerous.

As a result, any member of the community who see them must contact the nearest Police Station or Brigadier Thomas Shingange at 082 565 8155.
