PHALABORWA: Missing teenage girl’s body found on Women’s Day

The Police in Phalaborwa are looking for a suspect accused of killing a 16 year old girl and dumping her body in a small river.

“According to information Karen Manyama (16) left her home at Aalwyn Street on Saturday August 6 to meet friends at a local restaurant. She never returned home. She was reported missing. The Police commenced with their investigations,’ Col Ronel Otto said.

A member of the community alerted the Police about a body he saw between river reeds in a small river outside Phalaborwa yesterday (August 9).

‘The body was partially wrapped in plastic. It was confirmed that it was the body of the missing girl. A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.’ The police said.

No arrests have yet been made and members of the community who might have any information is requested to contact the investigating officer Cst Maluleke at 078 269 2226.
