The Southern African Macadamia Growers’ Association has released their final 2017 crop forecast with Limpopo’s forecast dropping.

The final crop forecast for the 2017 macadamia season sees Limpopo’s forecasted yield drop as the crops are under more constraint due to the lack of rain that resulted in a drought earlier this year.

However, Limpopo still holds 22% of the forecasted national macadamia crop yield in 9541 tons.

Despite the drop in the forecast, Limpopo’s forecasted yield is second only to the biggest macadamia producing province, Mpumalanga, who holds 55% of the predicted crop yield.
