HOEDSPRUIT: Manhunt on for armed robbery suspects

Hoedspruit police are on a massive manhunt for three armed suspects who allegedly robbed a 55 year old man at Tonnel Plaza on the R36 road on Friday, August 25.

“According to information, the man was paying his employees their monthly salary when a white Volkswagen Polo TSI without registration plates approached them with three occupants,” Sergeant Livhuwani Mulaudzi told the Hoedspruit Herald.
It is alleged that two suspects exited the car armed with rifles and a pistol.
“One suspect attempted to shoot at the crowd but failed to do so. This resulted in the other suspect firing a shot and fortunately no one was injured,” added Mulaudzi.
Following the panic caused by the gun shots, the suspects managed to get hold of the money and fled the scene.
“It is alleged that the 55 year old man then pursued the suspects and found the vehicle abandoned near Magwinya Market on the R36 road,” Mulaudzi concluded.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Hoedspruit police on 015 779 4063.
