Reckless driving suspect still on the loose

PoliceĀ in Tzaneen are investigating a case of reckless driving against a suspect who caused a three-vehicle pile-up on Friday, August 25.

On Friday, around 08:00, three motor vehicles collided at the intersection near Merensky High School after all attempting to avoid a man recklessly driving a red Mercedes Benz.
Even though he was the cause of the accident, the man sped away from the scene and was reportedly heard yelling “I am untouchable” to police and security forces.
The man was left to flee the scene and police have not yet arrested anyone with regard to the case.
The suspect has not yet been arrested despite the fact that various witnesses saw the accident and saw him flee the scene, the fact that his registration number and name being known by the police.
When questioned as to whether the suspect will eventually be arrested, Limpopo SAPS spokesperson, Lt. Col. Moatshe Ngoepe, simply said that “Investigations will tell.”
