HOEDSPRUIT: MM needs to account for travel costs

It has come to the attention of the Hoedspruit community that the Maruleng Municipal Manager might be using taxpayers’ money to travel to Polokwane on a daily basis.

“It is still unclear as to whether he travels using taxpayers’ money or at his own expense, if he is indeed travelling at the cost of taxpayers, necessary measures need to be taken,” a source who does not want to be named told the Herald.

When the Herald attempted to contact both the municipal manager as well as the Maruleng Municipality spokesperson for further elaboration as to whose accounts are paying for the travel costs, phones rung unanswered.
