INFOGRAPHIC: Sexual offences down, common assault up in Tzaneen crime stats

Tzaneen's crime stats show a 39% decrease in sexual offence cases and a 20,9% increase in common assault cases.

The South Africa Police Service (SAPS) along with StatsSA recently released the statistics for the country’s crime over the April 2016-March 2017 period.

The yearly statistics are calculated by means of the cases recorded in the financial year.

This year’s stats saw a 4% decrease in countrywide rape cases along with a 10,9% increase in cash-in-transit heists.
