MEC sent good wishes to the class of 2017

Thousands of Grade 12 learners all over South Africa are writing the biggest exam of their lives which began on Monday.

The next two months will mark a milestone in their educational life.

The MEC for the Department of Education in Limpopo, Ishmael Kgetjepe, has sent his good wishes to the class of 2017 in Limpopo.

“On behalf of the department, we can proudly say that this has been a very successful year for our learners.

“We urge you to work extra hard and such hard work will be reflected in this year’s Grade 12 results,” said MEC Kgetjepe.

The MEC said that he was pleased that the culture of learning and teaching has become a norm in the schools and also applauded the school, especially teachers for working hard.

Councillor Maripe Mangena, Mayor of Greater Tzaneen Municipality, also wished the class of 2017 well for their exams.

“This is the time where you will reap what you sow. The hard work, weekend classes and those sleepless nights will finally come to fruition,” said Mangena.

The Mayor of Greater Letaba Municipality (GLM), Peter Matlou, did not miss the opportunity to wish the Grade 12 learners well on their examinations too.

Matlou encouraged the learners to take advantage of the R3 million bursary set apart by GLM for the class of 2017 who will pass with flying colours.

Meanwhile the African National Congress in Limpopo has also sent good wishes to the learners.

“It is our greatest hope that all of you will pass in flying colours and raise the honour of Limpopo as a province of excellence.

“There are many post high school opportunities waiting for you to explore, gain skills and develop our province,” said Nocks Seabi, ANC Provincial Secretary.

Limpopo’s class of 2016 had a 68.2% pass rate, a decline of 3.5% from 71.7% in 2015.
