HOEDSPRUIT: Businesses robbed by armed men

The Shoprite USave in Casteel was robbed by five armed men last week.

“It is alleged that two armed men entered the shop at approximately 09;00 that morning, then instructed the security guard on duty to enter store,” stated Acornhoek Police pokeswoman Captain Mpho Nonyane.

According to information, the security guard attempted to press the panic button when the suspects realised his attempt and began assaulting him.

“The two suspects were further joined by two other three men who were already inside the store, when they instructed the till assistant to open till and stole and undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene,” added Nonyane.

Meanwhile a 24 year old Pakistani national together with his four brothers was robbed by four armed men in their shop.

“The victims were taken by surprised when these four armed men entered the shop and instructed the brothers to sit down while customers were given permission to steal groceries from the shop,” said Nonyane.

It is believed that the suspects who are driving a white BMW fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and anyone with information should contact Colonel Tronk Sibuyi on 013 795 8030 or 082 469 1031
