TZANEEN: Ycer’s eyes on the crown

In a new proud and gaily rainbow first, Ycer Machimana, will represent Limpopo on December 3 in Johannesburg in the Miss Gay RSA beauty pageant.

Tzaneen is known for delivering first places on podiums on many a field, or residents representing Limpopo in National competitions.

In a new proud and gaily rainbow first, Ycer Machimana, will represent Limpopo on December 3 in Johannesburg in the Miss Gay RSA beauty pageant.

Carnival City will play host to the event.

The pageant is for all transgender women within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexuel, Queer, Intersex (LGBTQI) community.

‘The pageant aims to forge bonds and unity in a divided community. It is also aimed at inspiring and empowering transwomen by giving them a hopeful platform to demonstrate how both, inward beauty and physical appearance are equally important to leadership and confidence,’ Machimana who hails from Mokgolobotho Village said.

Machimana will host a tea party and a fun run to raise funds for the competition.

‘I want to thank everyone in advance for making me reach my goal. I am one step ahead to wearing the national crown and carrying the title of Miss Gay RSA. I know through my hard work, determination and lots of faith, I can do it,’ Machimana said.
