GIYANI: Nonina defends her WBF title

Giyani Boxing Club’s ( GBC) Bukiwe Nonina has defended her World Boxing Federation (WBF) against Matshediso Mokebisi on points, in a most thrilling match held in Welkom in the Free State Province recently.
According to Nonina, the match went well because she was in control all rounds.
“I’m so happy because prior to the match she used to talk too much. I’m also excited that my dream of defending the title became a reality,” said Nonina
In April this year Nonina won this WBF title against Germany’s eight time champion Alesia Graaf.

“This was one of my easiest fight, I was expecting the win. I would like to thank Mopani Executive Mayor Nkakareng Rakgaole for booking us tickets for airplane and accommodation, and also for sending a delegation to support us. I would also like to thank Mr Mafomu of Mafomu and Son electronics for the new boxing kit and always been there for us since day one and for giving us accommodation at his home in Malamulele,” she added
Her trainer, Immanuel Muthavhatshindi said he was so happy for the win and said this will motivate her to win more titles.
He also thanked the sponsors and fans for their support towards them.
Mopani District Executive Mayor, Nkakareng Rakgaole, applauded Nonina for the win and for always putting Mopani in the map.
“As Mopani we are so delighted for her win and courage. We are always there to support her as she is putting us in a map. We would also like to urge other young people to follow suit and participate in sports”, she said
Some of her big win include, being a five time undefeated Bantam Weight Champion, 2016 female boxer win from Department of Sports, Arts and culture.
She will defend her WBF title against German boxer Alesia Graf in December 2017 in Germany.
