WATCH: Overjoyed Zimbabweans take to the streets in SA, show ‘Mugabe’ middle finger

‘Zimbabwe is free, now I can go back home with pleasure!’ said one of the revellers moments after Robert Mugabe stepped down from power.

Tuesday, November 21, 2017, marks the day Robert Mugabe resigned as president of Zimbabwe after three decades in power.

“Zimbabwe is free, now I can go back home with a pleasure,” said a young man (who didn’t want to disclose his name) celebrating in the Florida CBD, on the West Rand.

Veronica, one of the celebrators, said: “I didn’t have have a chance to raise my kids while I was working here in South Africa.”

“But today this is best thing I’ve ever seen. I’m very happy that he’s gone,” she said.
