She met with the Nkowankowa Driving School representatives who were crying out for the re-opening of the station.
The driving schools brought their concerns to the MEC which included, influx of the station by driving schools from other areas and less examiners at the station.

Makhurupetja assured the driving school representatives that all their concerns will be dealt with and she will also come back to discuss more better ways of improving the current system.
The department brought in new four testing officers who started working on Monday.
Two more officers are schedule to commerce work soon at the station.
The testing station was closed in December 12 when the Hawks Serious Corruption Unit and the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) arrested five testing officers at the station.

The officers were arrested on charges of contravention of the Road Traffic Act of 93 0f 1996 and the prevention and combating of corrupt Activities Act 12 of 2004.
Makhurupetja commended the Hawks and RTMC for the arrests and their efforts of fighting corruption.
“I would like to applaud the Hawks and RTMC for dealing with corruption both in the testing stations and on the roads.”

“The Hawks have assured me that the program will continue and will move to other areas,” explained Makhurupetja.
The driving schools representatives were excited to hear that the station will be back to life.
“We are very happy, we got what we wanted and now we are ready to work, it has been long over due,” said Makwela one of the driving school owners.
