GIYANI: Man arrested for killing a learner

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ngoepe, Limpopo police spokesperson, "the 20-year-old man allegedly chopped him with a sharp object, killing him instantly."

A 20-year-old man has been arrested following the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old at Mbangezike High School in Xikukwani village.

It is alleged that an argument ensued between the deceased and a 15-year-old fellow learner.

The 15-year-old then called his elder brother, the arrested male, and they followed the 14-year-old to his house.

The suspect’s home after being torched by the community.

According to Lieutenant  Colonel Ngoepe, Limpopo police spokesperson, “the 20-year-old man allegedly chopped him with a sharp object, killing him instantly.”

Subsequent to the killing, the Xikukwani residents went on a rampage and burnt the suspect’s home with everything inside.

The suspect will appear before Giyani Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder.

No arrests have yet been made for the arson at the suspect’s home.
