Tzaneen: ‘Ive killed your mother’

A mother-of-one was killed on Tuesday morning when a man known to her and her son contacted the son and informed him that he had killed his mother and then fled.

A mother-of-one was killed on Tuesday morning when a man known to her and her son contacted the son and informed him that he had killed his mother and then fled.

According to the police the deceased mother who was residing at Mugwazeni village which falls under Nwamita was found dead near Musiphana Stream.

The suspect allegedly contacted his girlfriend’s son to tell him that he had murdered his mother and that the son should tell his grandmother that his mother is dead.

“The suspect contacted the son of the deceased to inform him that he had killed his mother and that the son should inform his grandmother that her daughter was killed,” the police said in a statement.

The police said that the incident occurred at around 05:45 and that the boy had indeed informed his grandmother.

“The community members were mobilised to go and search for the allegedly murdered woman and she was found where the suspect had directed them to,” said the statement.

According to the statement the deceased had sustained head injuries.

“The suspect, Ronny Nkuna aged between 45 and 50, who resides at Selwane, Phalaborwa, is on the run,” the police said.
