Sambo is charged with six counts of crime, two attempted murder cases, two cases of kidnapping and two counts of hijacking and robbery with aggravating circumstances. Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, reported that the accused and his accomplice only known as Kabelo from Pretoria hijacked a 50-yearold business woman and her son from Nkowankowa outside Tzaneen in October 2017.

“It is alleged that the suspects hijacked the victims, drove to the business partner’s homestead in Nkowankowa and robbed the victims of eight buckets of gold, with an estimated street value of R5 million as well as two cellphones, one of which was later recovered. They fled the scene with the woman and her son tied up in the boot of their vehicle,” Colonel Ngoepe explained.

The whereabouts of his accomplice are currently not clear but some believe that he was shot and died a while back after being on the run from the police.

The ruling on wether he gets a bail or not will be done on Thursday August 2.
