UPDATE: Mother and son recovering after giraffe attack in Hoedspruit
Dr Sam Williams confirmed that several doctors operated on his wife, at Busamed Modderfontein Hospital in Johannesburg last night.
Katy Williams and her three-year-old son Finn are still in a critical, but stable condition following a giraffe attack at Blyde Wildlife Estate, Hoedspruit on Monday.

A female giraffe who had recently given birth attacked Katy and Finn just a mere 150 metres from their home earlier this week.
The operation to attend to multiple injuries sustained during the attack from the giraffe was completed during the early hours of this morning.
Dr Williams would like to thank all doctors and medical personal from the hospital for their efforts to give his wife and son the best chance to heal.

The family said that they have decided to take one day at a time and to remain positive.
Williams is a resident of the United Kingdom, and his wife, originally from the United States of America, are both scientists with post PhD experience in animal related fields.
