Tzaneen: Women in business seminar a great success

SEDA Mopani hosted a two day Women in Business Seminar at Ivory Tusk Lodge in Tzaneen recently.

Businesswomen from the whole of Limpopo came in great numbers to be part of the programme.

“The aim of the event is for women in business to network with each and to celebrate each other’s achievements,” said Sheila Phaphate from SEDA.

The entrepreneurs ranged from toy manufactures, farmers, beauticians, automotive technicians and fashion designers to mention just a few.

On day two, the women were empowered by words of wisdom from different successful women such as Kgaugelo Maponya, the owner of Divine

Glamour Spa and Linky King owner of Tzaneen Vehicle Repairs amongst others.

Local farmer, Conny Komane, Owner of PCK Poultry Farming in Makgaung Village outside Sekororo, was one of the people who attended the program and says she learnt a lot about business through the event.

In August Komane was named Top Producer in Small Holder Business at the Mopani Farmers Awards.

Her poultry farm has been running from 2010 and still going strong and has created 12 permanent jobs.

The single mother of three also established a tent, chairs and tables hiring company which she runs between Tzaneen and Sekororo.

The main speaker of the day was entrepreneur, Sphelele Moshobane, who focused on women holistically.

The program director of the seminar was Matimba Makaringa the owner of Miss Courage, a company which manufactures honey and perfumes between Limpopo and Gauteng, who had nothing but praise to the organisers of the event.
