Mopani’s Orthopedics theatre officially opened

The Mopani region Orthopedics theatre was officially opened by a Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for health in Limpopo, Phophi Ramathuba on Monday.

Letaba Hospital took the platform to also welcome the Newly Appointed Orthopedics Specialist, Dr Molepe. The event started around 09:00 as the hospital dignitaries such as the Board chairperson, Ward councillors, Clinical managers and the Hospital’s CEO welcomed the MEC at Casualty.

The MEC said, “I will sleep peacefully, I feel fulfilled because our efforts have paid [off] and I must emphasise that the department of health is dedicated to promoting professionalism and advancing the standards of patient care.”

The centre is expected to be a big patient satisfier. The department of health aims to use the centre as a training site, by transferring doctors from different hospitals who will be trained in operating minor injuries, in order to reduce the waiting period for patients.

Molepe and the MEC shared a moment as they operated on the first patient.

The newly renovated building which is now the centre, shows dedication and growth of the department of orthopedics and signifies intergration of care and commitment on the department of health. The MEC, the hospital’s clinical managers, CEO and other dignitaries met at the resource centre for a debriefing and finger snacks.
