The Mopani District School Sports held their Annual Track and Field Championships for Schools to select a team to represent the district during the Provincial Championships.

The primary school event was held at Tzaneen Primary School on Wednesday, February 20 and secondary school competition was held at Ben Vorster High School on Saturday.
Secretary Austin Makamu confirmed that the selected athletes from various clusters of the district will be representing the Mopani during Provincial Championships on March 8 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane for secondary schools.
He also said that Mopani has selected the best athletes to represent them although rain sometimes interrupts the training program of some of the athletes, but he believe the selected team is of good quality and will represent the district well.
