“I want to first indicate that as the district municipality we are not tasked to build houses, but through a public-private partnership we are able to ensure that the recipients today have a proper structure over their heads. This also presents an opportunity for me to officially say goodbye to the people of Mopani as I have been seconded to go and serve in the legislature,” said Rakgoale.

Seventy-nine-year old Koporo Shai who is one of the beneficiaries used to stay in a mud house.
He said that he appreciates what Rakgoale has done for him.
“I really do not know what to say after Rakgoale intervened and ensured that myself and my son have a proper house where we are going to live without fear for our lives. It has been tough as you can see the dilapidated mud house we have been staying for many years. May God bless all of you.” said Shai.
