Alleged house robbers arrested outside Tzaneen

The Police arrested two suspects aged 29 and 32 and recovered unlicensed firearms, ammunition, a stolen motor vehicle and a number of suspected stolen properties in the Mankweng and Tzaneen Clusters on Tuesday 18 November.

According to Brigadier Motlafelo Mojapelo a suspect (32) sought for house robbery, was arrested by the Modjadjiskloof Police outside Tzaneen during an intelligence led joint operation comprising Modjadjiskloof Detectives and the Tzaneen Tracking Team while hiding in his hideout in the bushes.

“During investigations, three more suspects involved in this case were identified and traced at a house in Ga-Kgapane township outside Modjadjiskloof,”  Mojepelo said.

All three suspects managed to evade arrest on foot.

The search were conducted inside the house.

The Police recovered a 9mm pistol with 48 live ammunation, a bag with Nikon camera,
grinder, a drilling machine, four alavrm batteries, security uniforms, uniform, shox wireless speakers, ladies adidas tekkies, white all star tekkies, a pair of handcuffs. a revolver holster, red and white extension cord and spanners.

“Preliminary police investigations linked the recovered firearm with a Modjadjiskloof business robbery and it is suspected that the suspects might be linked to a series of serious and violent crimes around the Tzaneen Cluster,” Majepelo said

The suspect is expected to appear before Modjadjiskloof Magistrate’s court soon on charges of house robbery.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police have launched a manhunt for the remaining suspects.
