Council appoints new municipal manager for Mopani District
Mopani District Municipality has recently appointed a new municipal manager and here he is.
A special sitting of the Mopani District Municipality Council last Wednesday approved the appointment of Quiet Kgatla as the municipal manager.
The former chief financial officer, Kgatla, has been the acting municipal manager of the district municipality since the resignation Republic Monakedi last year.
His appointment is for a period of two years after the election of the next council.
The executive mayor, Pule Shayi, has welcomed the appointment of Kgatla as the municipal manager saying, “we are hopeful that he will exercise his duties as the accounting officer with the utmost care and diligence”.

“The position of municipal manager comes with great responsibility, and one such responsibility is to always act in the best interest of this institution and within the confines of the law. He has our full support, and together we should be able to strive for the highest level of good governance.”
Kgatla holds an honours degree in Accounting Science and a Bachelor of Commerce.
According to the municipal spokesperson, Odas Ngobeni, Kgatla brings a wealth of experience having worked as trainee accountant, supervisor at ABSA, audit manager in the office of the auditor general before joining the district municipality as the CFO.
