Free coffee paid by a stranger at Wild Dogz

Wild Dogz Burger Bar always have the idea of giving back to the community.

They are now paying it forward by offering a platform where a stranger pays for a cup of coffee offered to those hit hard by Covid-19 resulting in job losses, having a hard time during these trying times or just low in cash.

Owner of Wild Dogz Burger Bar Arthur Loiselier, told Herald that during level 4 of lockdown when take-away became authorised they wanted to set up a soup kitchen day at their previous location with some of their loyal and generous customers.

“Recently two of those customers Arda Van Dongen and David Byrne, who are well-known to the community, approached us with this initiative,” he said.

Loiselier and his team jumped at the idea which he said will last for as long as there is a need for it.

“There are always people in need and fortunately also people willing to give,” he said.

The community has responded positively and are showing their support, Wild Dogz Burger Bar has already received their first claimers of free coffees and even more people who came to pay forward for free ones.

“We are close to 100 free coffees paid for already and each customer adds one at their visit,” he said.

Loiselier further told Herald that Wild dogz Burger Bar was always created with the idea of giving in mind.

“We organised several fundraisers since last year through the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), Elephants Alive and recently Hoedspruit Animal Outreach (Halo). Our moto is Food for Conservation, we just decided that with the year 2020 we should extend our efforts towards people” he said.

When asked if they would consider doing something like this in future Loiselier said they were already talking about sponsoring meals and organising certain dates dedicated to people in need of a free meal.
