Phalaborwa learner joins Limpopo Blue Bulls

Fauna Park’s Quinton Mafogo has been selected for the Limpopo Blue Bulls u/12 sevens team, marking a major milestone for the school.

PHALABORWA – Fauna Park Primary School is celebrating yet another milestone in its rugby journey after its Gr 5 learner Quinton Mafogo (11) was selected to represent the Limpopo Blue Bulls u/12 sevens team.

Mafogo’s selection comes just three years after rugby was first introduced at the school in 2022. He now follows in the footsteps of Titus Magoro, who became the school’s first-ever provincial rugby player.

The young athlete impressed selectors during the trials held on Wednesday, August 27, before securing his place at the provincial selection round on Wednesday, September 3. He will now join the u/12 Limpopo Blue Bulls sevens squad in upcoming tournaments.

The school’s principal, Florina Mamokgere, expressed her pride in Mafogo’s achievement. “As a principal, I feel very happy as this victory has once again put our school on the map. This is a great achievement, especially considering that rugby was only introduced at our school three years ago. Learners are being allowed to showcase their different talents, and Quinton is a shining example of what is possible,” she said.
