Agricolleges is the king of the potjie

The Tzaneen Chamber of Commerce and Agri Letaba hosted a potjiekos competition during the Agri Letaba Show on Thursday, August 10.

Farmers and businesses lit their fires and competed for the top prize on the banks of the Letaba River. The judges for the competition, Sandra Opperman, from Tzaneen Country Lodge, Remi Anderson from Krabbefontein, and Elna Jacobs from Modjadjiskloof Spar had the enjoyable task of tasting and judging each team’s dishes.

The team from Agricolleges, Martha Letsoalo, Sarie Espach, Adri du Plooy, and Nicole Muller won the prize for the best potjie. NoordChem’s team, Pierré Strydom, Karel van Heerden, Gerhard Oosthuizen, and Johan Haynes won the team spirit and atmosphere prize and the team from PPS, George Taylor, Douglas Elphinstone, Armand Starbuck, and Philip Mostert won the most original potjie.

The team from Komati Group, Anne-Marie Santa Rita, Elsje Kemp, Renier Snyman, and Benji Cawood won the best presentation category. The eleven businesses that participated were PPS, Let’s Drive, CPJ Boerdery, Komati Group, Agricolleges, Amorentia, Tzaneen Brake & Clutch, NoordChem, Lannie Motors, Trophy Tractors, and the Mahela Group.
