UIF clients no longer have to stand in queues

To address the long queues at labour centres around the country, the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has launched an interactive platform and app to assist clients.

Recently, the UIF introduced the new app at the Department of Employment and Labour’s Tzaneen Labour Centre. The new platforms serve as additional service points that allow clients to access UIF services from anywhere, at any time, without having to travel to a labour centre or incur costs for transport, data or airtime.

Supervisor for registration services at the Tzaneen branch, Audrey Mboweni, says she believes that the platforms will save clients from standing in long queues. To access the platforms, dial *134*843# on any type of cellphone. The UIF mobile app can be downloaded onto a smartphone from Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or the Huawei App Store.

Both platforms offer the same services, are free to use, and can be used at any time, from anywhere.
