Dignity overcomes body issues to win pageant

17-year-old Dignity Chabalala from Daniel Rababalela outside Giyani was crowned Miss Royal Rose Philanthropist 2023/24.

She was also the second princess in the Miss Royal Rose 2023/24 pageant. “I grew up around people who used to describe the perfect body as slim, and every time I looked at myself, I did not see a perfect body.

This influenced my self-confidence and how I perceived my body should look like,” she said. “Despite all the negativity, I still found a way to make one of my dreams come true by winning this title. “It means I now have the responsibility to be a role model to girls who are in the same situation.

“Hence I entered Mr & Miss Royal Rose. I believe I’m a leader and I look forward to inspiring others to be courageous and dedicated,” she concluded.
